Abstract

One of the learning models that is believed to be able to improve critical thinking skills is the Inquiry Based Learning (IBL) Learning Model. In the world of education, critical thinking skills are one of the main skills that students must have in order to face the challenges of the digital era. However, at SMPN 4 Ranah Pesisir, based on initial observations and discussions with teachers, several problems were still found related to students' critical thinking skills. This type of research is a quantitative study using a sample of 46 students conducted at SMPN 4 Ranah Pesisir. Sampling was carried out by total sampling. Data processing used paired sample t-test analysis to see changes in pre-test and post-test results. The results showed that there was a significant influence between the results of the Pre-test and Post-test in the experimental class, this was evidenced by a significant value (2-tailed) of 0.001 < alpha 0.05. This shows that there is a significant influence of the use of the Inquiry Based Learning (IBL) learning model on students' critical thinking skills in ICT subjects in Class VIII UPT SMPN Ranah Pesisir.
