In the world of education, critical thinking skills are one of the main skills that students must have in order to face the challenges of the digital era. However, at SMPN 4 Ranah Pesisir, based on initial observations and discussions with teachers, several problems were still found related to students' critical thinking skills. This type of research is a quantitative study using a sample of 46 students conducted at SMPN 4 Ranah Pesisir. Sampling was carried out by total sampling. Data processing used paired sample t-test analysis to see changes in pre-test and post-test results. The results showed that there was a significant influence between the results of the Pre-test and Post-test in the experimental class, this was evidenced by a significant value (2-tailed) of 0.001 &lt; alpha 0.05. This study aims to describe the experiences of teachers at SMP Negeri 4 Painan in using AI for lesson planning and to analyze its impact on time efficiency. This study employs a descriptive quantitative method using a Likert scale questionnaire consisting of 20 statements and follow-up interviews. A total of 20 teachers who have used AI in lesson planning served as research respondents. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to determine the average score for each indicator, supplemented by thematic analysis of interview results. The results showed that teachers had positive experiences with AI use, as indicated by the average scores for the experience indicator (89.00%), time efficiency (83.00%), and acceptance of AI (83.71%), with an overall summary of respondents' statements (85.35%) meeting the ―Very Satisfied‖ criterion. In-depth interviews revealed that AI helps teachers in preparing lesson plans, providing teaching materials, and saving time in lesson preparation. However, challenges faced include limitations in technological infrastructure and the need for further training. </em></p> Rido Valdianto Apando Ekardo Risma Wiwita Dino Adi Putra Andri Yanto Copyright (c) 2026 JIETECH: Journal of Informatic Education and Technology 2026-03-13 2026-03-13 1 1 33 45 SISTEM INFORMASI PENGOLAHAN DATA PELANGGARAN SISWA BERBASIS WEB DI UPT SMP N 4 PAINAN https://jietech.unimika.ac.id/index.php/jietech/article/view/3 <p><em>This research aims to design and implement a Web-Based Student Violation Data Management Information System at UPT SMP Negeri 4 Painan. The background of this study is the school’s reliance on manual recording methods, which are prone to data loss, lack transparency, and require more time for processing. The research employed a Research and Development (R&amp;D) approach using the Waterfall model, consisting of analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance stages. Data were collected through questionnaires using the Likert and Guttman scales distributed to teachers, homeroom teachers, staff, and other stakeholders as system users. The results indicate that the developed system improves the efficiency of violation recording, ensures data accuracy, and accelerates information processing. A total of 90% of respondents expressed satisfaction and recommended the system’s adoption in other schools, while only 20% reported technical difficulties, mainly related to interface design and navigation. Overall, the system is considered effective, efficient, and capable of supporting digital-based school governance.</em></p> Eko Mai Putra M. UPT SMP Negeri 4 Painan is one of the schools that has utilized Chromebooks as the main medium in informatics learning. However, based on initial observations, it was found that many students have not fully understood how to use this device. This study aims to describe the level of understanding of Grade VIII students in using Chromebooks, identify the factors that influence it, and reveal the challenges faced by students during the informatics learning process. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The results of the study show that students’ understanding of Chromebook usage varies, with most students still experiencing difficulties in operating certain features, especially those related to the use of cloud-based applications. The main obstacles identified include limited internet connectivity and differences between the Chromebook interface and other devices. The conclusion of this study is that the use of Chromebooks in informatics learning has great potential, but it needs to be accompanied by training so that students’ understanding can improve optimally.</em></p> Rosa Linda Efrianto Efrianto Taufik Abdul Hasan A Okfiani Syaftri Muslim Muslim Copyright (c) 2026 JIETECH: Journal of Informatic Education and Technology 2026-03-13 2026-03-13 1 1 46 54 DAMPAK PEMANFAATAN APLIKASI QUIZIZZ DI AKHIR PEMBELAJARAN TERHADAP MOTIVASI BELAJAR SISWA KELAS VIII UPT SMP NEGERI 4 PAINAN https://jietech.unimika.ac.id/index.php/jietech/article/view/4 <p><em>Student learning motivation in informatics at SMPN 4 Painan remains low, with an average score of 60, below the Minimum Competency (KKM) of 75, characterized by a lack of enthusiasm and passive participation. This study aims to determine the effect of the Quizizz application on the learning motivation of eighth-grade students at the UPT SMP Negeri 4 Painan. Data were collected through a Likert-scale learning motivation questionnaire and analyzed using normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing. The results showed that: Based on the results of the Quizizz application utilization process at the end of the lesson, there was a significant difference between the average posttest results of the experimental and control classes. The learning motivation of students in the experimental class using the Quizizz application at the end of the lesson was higher. Based on the average posttest results, the use of the Quizizz application at the end of the lesson resulted in better results.
